By uploading your raw DNA file to our service, you expressly consent to the following terms:
1. What We Collect
- Genome Data: Your un-modified raw text file (e.g. from MyHeritage, AncestryDNA, 23andMe).
- Metadata: Your user ID, upload timestamp, IP address, and your chosen service provider.
2. What We Do with Your Data
- Secure Upload
- Files are transmitted directly to Amazon S3 over HTTPS.
- We use AWS Server-Side Encryption (AES-256) at rest and automatically expire files within 24 hours via S3 Lifecycle rules.
- Automated Analysis
- An AWS Lambda function parses your SNPs, matches them against our curated lookup tables, and generates a personalized PDF report.
- Secure Delivery
- The PDF is stored in a private S3 folders unique to each user ID and never made public.
- You receive a time-limited, presigned URL (valid 60 minutes) to download your report.
- Data Deletion
- All raw and processed files are automatically purged from S3 within 24 hours.
- You may also withdraw consent at any time to trigger immediate deletion.
3. Your Rights & Controls
- Right of Access: You can download your raw data and PDF report at any time during the 24 h retention window.
- Right to Withdraw: On your Account → Consent Status page, click “Withdraw Consent & Delete Data” to erase all files and consent logs.
- Right to Rectification: If any of your personal data (e.g. account details) is inaccurate, you may update it in your WordPress Profile.
- Right to Erasure: Beyond the automatic 24 h deletion, you can request complete removal of any records we hold by contacting us directly.
4. Consent Record
- We record your explicit “I agree” checkbox, timestamp, IP address, and the version of these Terms you accepted.
- Any material changes to these Terms will require you to re-consent before further uploads.
5. Security & Confidentiality
- Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256).
- Access Control: Only you (authenticated via WordPress/JWT) and our secure Lambda environment can read your files.
- Logging & Monitoring: We maintain audit logs of uploads, processing events, and deletions via AWS CloudWatch.
6. Limitation of Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including non-infringement, merchantability, and fitness for a particular purpose.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this service.
7. No Medical Advice
- The Custom Genetic Report is provided for educational and research purposes only and is not intended to constitute medical advice. The information contained herein is for general informational purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Reliance on any information provided in this report is solely at your own risk.
- The authors and distributors of this report make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of the information contained herein. In no event shall they be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the use of this report.
