Description
As societal trends increasingly prioritize physical appearance, retinoids such as Accutane have become a popular treatment for acne and fine lines. However, as the use of these medications grows, so does awareness of their potential side effects.
For those unlucky enough to encounter complications, it quickly becomes apparent that Vitamin A influences nearly all biological processes. The side effects of retinoid medications can impact muscles and joints, vision, digestion, and—perhaps most concerningly—the brain.
Patients seeking answers from their healthcare providers often receive unsatisfactory explanations, which can lead to even greater frustration and despair. That’s where this book aims to help. While it’s impossible to explain the broad and sometimes severe side effects of retinoid medications without understanding the underlying science, I’ve provided a layman-friendly approach that makes this material accessible, even to readers with only a basic grasp of biology. One way I’ve achieved this is by summarising the key points of each subchapter into concise bullet points, offering a clear takeaway.
Each chapter of this book delves into the role of retinoids within the body and outlines the known effects of retinoid medications. Additionally, I present evidence for targeted interventions shown to mitigate the potential adverse effects of these medications.

Very useful with respect to the diagrams and the bullet points at the end of the chapters. It had the protocol I was looking for, which is useful but I did want to see more on fixing damage to joints.

Thank you very much for this work. This is the first book (as far as I know) that explains the biological aspect concerning the lasting side effects of accutane.
The part about the brain is very interesting.
The author suggests a protocol which is supported by a lot of scientific studies.
