Latest News Regarding SecondLife: Coupons Codes & Genetic Reporting
Many of you following SecondLifeGuide.com for some time will know that a complete book on the ‘Post Accutane Syndrome’ has been in the works for some time. This website has explored the lasting adverse effects of Accutane (or retinoids more generally) throughout the body, ranging from impacts on the gut, the gastrointestinal system, and most significantly – the brain.
It’s suffice to say that Accutane’s effects are both broad and profound, and so deciphering what’s relevant in explaining the enduring cognitive changes that many experience following treatment with Accutane is no small task – especially when it comes to the complexity of PRSD (Post-Retinoid Sexual Dsyfunction). Nonetheless, I’ve endeavoured to do precisely that.
What’s now available for purchase either through Amazon or directly through the store is my best attempt at explaining what drives the neurological changes so many experience as a result of Accutane: ‘SecondLife: Retinoid Recovery Guide‘. It’s not an exaggeration to say this is perhaps the most expansive repository of research on the impact of retinoids on the brain, drawing on over 220 different studies.
For those who’ve helped to support SecondLife, either through one time donations or as members, I’m incredibly grateful. To express my gratitude I’ve generated a coupon that will act a 100% discount to make the Retinoid Recovery ebook free to download from my store. The coupons have been generated based on the email you used to make sign-up or make the one time donation.
The coupon code is whatever precedes the ‘@’ in your address, for example the email ‘johnsmith@gmail.com’ would have the coupon code: johnsmith. If you’re having any difficulty with your coupon, don’t hesitate to contact me. (Make sure you login with the same email before trying to apply the coupon)
I hope that you continue to support me into future as I begin to delve more into explaining some of the conditions related to Post Accutane Syndrome, such as PSSD (Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction) and PFS (Post Finasteride Syndrome). I’ll be continuing my research into Post Accutane Syndrome as more studies are published by the day, and an even more complete picture of the condition becomes available.
What’s New?
One of my goals as end of 2024 draws closer, and into the new year, is to explore the genetic vulnerabilities that may exist in developing lasting adverse effects from medications like Accutane or SSRIs. In previous articles I’ve highlighted the significance of certain single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). These are the simple ‘swaps’ in the genetic code, such as from an A (Adenine) to G (Guanine), that can dramatically impact health outcomes – and in particular individual responses to pharmaceuticals.
For example, a SNP called rs6295 can determine the behaviour of the serotonin receptor 5-HT1A, which holds a great deal of predictive power over whether somebody is likely respond more negatively to SSRIs (read more). 5-HT1A is also relevant in understanding the response to Accutane, for reasons I detail in this article.
I’ve been working on software that will parse through the raw genetic data provided by services like AncestryDNA and 23andMe and identify these risk SNPs and write a custom genetic report on how they may have impacted the development of conditions like PAS and PSSD. The service will be analagous to that offered by Gene Insights or Promethease, except it will be tailored to explaining the causative role particular SNPs in lasting adverse drug reaction. I’m still a while away from being able to release this product, but stay tuned for updates.
